Pumori
Mount Pumori, rising to 7,161 meters in Nepal’s Khumbu region, is known as “Everest’s Daughter” and stands among the most stunning 7,000-meter peaks. Located within Sagarmatha National Park near Everest, it offers breathtaking summit views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse. First summited in 1962 by Gerhard Lenser, it’s a challenging climb featuring steep snow, ice slopes, and technical alpine sections—ideal for experienced mountaineers preparing for bigger objectives. Our expeditions run several weeks with proper acclimatization. We provide experienced Sherpa guides, permits, camps, technical support, and strong safety protocols for this rewarding challenge.
Itinerary:-
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, complete immigration and visa formalities. A dedicated representative will welcome you in the arrivals hall and provide a private transfer to your deluxe hotel in Kathmandu. The remainder of the day is reserved for rest and recovery after international travel. Overnight at hotel.
Today is dedicated to final expedition preparations. You will attend a comprehensive briefing led by the expedition leader covering route strategy, safety protocols, acclimatization plans, and logistics. A detailed inspection of personal and technical climbing equipment is conducted to ensure compliance with expedition standards. Meanwhile, our operations team completes all required government permits and documentation. Overnight at hotel.
An early-morning scenic flight transports you to Lukla, offering spectacular views of the Himalayan range. Upon arrival, meet the trekking crew and begin the trek through Sherpa villages and forested trails along the Dudh Koshi River. The gentle walk to Phakding allows for gradual acclimatization. Overnight at lodge.
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing iconic suspension bridges draped with prayer flags. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the route ascends steadily toward Namche Bazaar. Weather permitting, first views of Mount Everest appear along the trail. Namche Bazaar, the commercial and cultural hub of the Khumbu, provides excellent facilities for rest and acclimatization. Overnight at lodge.
A crucial acclimatization day to aid safe ascent. A guided hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,800 m) or nearby Khumjung village offers panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The afternoon is free for rest, hydration, and exploration of Namche’s markets and bakeries. Overnight at lodge.
The trail contours along scenic ridges with breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam before descending to the Imja Khola. A gradual ascent leads to Tengboche, home to the region’s most important monastery. A visit to Tengboche Monastery offers a cultural highlight and spiritual blessing for the expedition. Overnight at lodge.
Ascending above the tree line, the landscape opens into high alpine terrain. The route passes through Pangboche village and follows the Imja Valley toward Dingboche. Stone-walled fields and dramatic mountain vistas define this region, making Dingboche an essential acclimatization stop. Overnight at lodge.
The trail climbs steadily toward higher elevations, passing the memorials at Thukla dedicated to fallen climbers. From here, the path follows the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to Lobuche. The environment becomes stark and glaciated, signaling entry into true high-altitude terrain. Overnight at lodge.
A rest and acclimatization day is observed to prepare the body for extreme altitude. Short acclimatization walks, hydration, and medical checks are conducted under the supervision of the expedition leader and Sherpa team. Overnight at lodge.
A short but demanding trek over glacial terrain leads to Gorak Shep, the final settlement before base camp. After arrival, climbers rest and prepare equipment in anticipation of entering the climbing phase of the expedition. Overnight at lodge.
This period is dedicated to the ascent of Mount Pumori. Activities include load carries, acclimatization rotations, establishment of high camps, route fixing, and summit attempts. The climbing strategy follows a conservative and safety-focused approach, maximizing acclimatization and weather windows. Experienced high-altitude Sherpas provide support throughout the climb. Upon a successful summit attempt, teams descend carefully back toward lower elevations.
After completing the climbing phase, descend from higher camps to Gorak Shep. The descent is conducted carefully to allow for proper recovery. Overnight at lodge.
The descent continues through Lobuche and back into the Imja Valley. Oxygen levels increase noticeably, aiding recovery after the climb. Overnight at lodge in Dingboche.
Retrace the route through alpine valleys and forested sections to Tengboche. The warmer climate and lower altitude provide welcome comfort. Overnight at lodge.
A scenic descent through pine forests and suspension bridges leads back to Namche Bazaar. Enjoy a final evening in the Khumbu’s vibrant center. Overnight at lodge.
The final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River back to Lukla. Celebrate the completion of the expedition with the trekking team. Overnight at lodge.
